"I believe that banking institutions are more dangerous to our liberties than standing armies. If the American people ever allow private banks to control the issue of their currency, first by inflation, then by deflation, the banks and corporations that will grow up around [the banks] will deprive the people of all property until their children wake-up homeless on the continent their fathers conquered. The issuing power should be taken from the banks and restored to the people, to whom it properly belongs."

Perhaps instead of creating a Government run Health care system.....
There are so many Laws and Policies that hinder the prosperity of this nation, and its citizens.
Examples;
In my very small town, our local Blue Star Mothers opened a thrift store. The funds go 100% to the work of the volunteer Blue Star Mothers. Recently they had the Tax commission visit, and require them to pay taxes. Along with the local Ministerial Alliance (Co-op of the churches in the city to keep a food and clothes bank). They, also run a thrift store. One of them will be clothing very soon.
A Doctor in New York tried to charge $79 flat rate every month for unlimited visits for anything that could be done in his office, including X-rays. But the state stepped in saying that it was against the law.
We have created programs for the poor that create dependence, and ridiculous laws and taxes that keep everyday people from starting business.
Policies and Laws like these, instituted by both Republicans and Democrats, stifle the ingenuity and competition of Americans. Perhaps instead of creating a Government run Health care system, we should visit the policies and laws that hinder the people from being TRUE consumers of health care, and health insurance. Consumers that vote with their dollars, and are not penalized for being productive and benevolent.

Excuse me Mr. President, but your race bait is showing….
Your efforts to take advantage of a friend’s crisis seems to have backfired. What might have worked in a hotel ballroom full of like minded people, has only served to expose your manipulative tactics, and racist attitudes. You’re very deliberate efforts to smooth things over without a true apology does not go un-noticed.
However, it's hard not to be impressed with the attention shift away from the true issue at hand.
-Your power grab with Nationalized Health Care

Another Ethics Complaint Filed Against the Governor
Something tells me that Sara Palin is quite a threat. They are still shooting arrows.....
Another Ethics Complaint Filed Against the Governor
July 20, 2009, Anchorage, Alaska – Once again, an ethics complaint has been filed and publicly released in violation of state law. This is the sixth complaint filed by Ms. McLeod. In addition, she has filed a lawsuit against the Governor's office and multiple public records act requests. All of her prior complaints that have been ruled on have been dismissed. The Ethics Act serves important state interests in ensuring ethical state government and was intended to prevent the various forms of corrupt misconduct that had plagued the Legislature in prior years and which resulted in the prosecution of legislators and others. It is unfortunate that the law has been abused and trivialized in the current manner............

A lady wrote the best letter in the Editorials in ages!!! It explains things better than all the baloney you hear on TV.
Her point:
Recently, large demonstrations have taken place across the country, protesting the fact that Congress is finally addressing the issue of illegal immigration.
Certain people are angry that the US might protect its own borders, might make it harder to sneak into this country and, once here, to stay indefinitely.
Let me see if I correctly understand the thinking behind these protests.
Let's say I break into your house. Let's say that when you discover me in your house, you insist that I leave.
But I say, "I've made all the beds and washed the dishes and did the laundry and swept the floors. I've done all the things you don't like to do. I'm hard-working and honest (except for when I broke into your house).
According to the protesters:
You are Required to let me stay in your house.
You are Required to add me to your family's insurance plan.
You are Required to Educate my kids.
You are Required to Provide other benefits to me & to my family (my husband will do all of your yard work because he is also hard-working and honest, except for that breaking in part).
If you try to call the police or force me out, I will call my friends who will picket your house carrying signs that proclaim my RIGHT to be there. It's only fair, after all, because you have a nicer house than I do, and I'm just trying to better myself. I'm a hard-working and honest, person, except for well, you know, I did break into your house. And oh yeah, I get a free education, where you have to pay your own way through college.(TEEHEE)
And what a deal it is for me!!!
I live in your house, contributing only a fraction of the cost of my keep, and there is nothing you can do about it without being accused of cold,
Uncaring, selfish, prejudiced, and bigoted behavior.
Oh yeah, I DEMAND that you learn MY LANGUAGE!!! So you can communicate with me. And don't forget to make sure your forms are in MY language - I need to understand them...
Why can't people see how ridiculous this is?!
Only in America !

2+2= ???
Did Biden really say that we needed to spend our way out of bankruptcy? Sounds like basic accounting to me!
It should be illegal for people who can't do simple math to run the country!

End justifies the means.....
"On the whole, these projects were a failure. The attempt to tame the wild creatures, for instance, broke down almost immediately. They continue to behave very much as before, and when treated with generosity, simply took advantage of it."
Excerpt from Animal Farm.
Interesting that even the Pro-Socialist Orwell recognized the fallible and corrupt nature of man. The Utopian idealists that justify their spending and programs for the good of all, are in denial to the fact that not all are good. The championed causes that benefit the minority disadvantaged, is equally distributed to those who take advantage. The cost of these benefits are great. They usually cost double or triple the end benefit to the receiver. Should we not count the cost before we spend? Truly for them the end justifies the means. Even if the means cost us our liberty and possibly the survival of our great country.

Its amazing that my last post seemed (to me) to be signifigant and Very telling at that time. Had Palin said anything remotley similar, the outcry would have been deafening. Sotomayor, will recieve a pass and the red carpet layed out before her. Something is so wrong...

A little racist banter for you....
"I would hope that a wise Latina woman with the richness of her experiences would more often than not reach a better conclusion [as a judge] than a white male who hasn't lived that life." -- Judge Sonia Sotomayor

"It does not take a majority to prevail"
"It does not take a majority to prevail..but rather an irate, tireless minority, keen on setting brushfires of freedom in the minds of men." Samuel Adams

Academic Supreme Court Justice?
We need a supreme court judge that is not so much an academic? Perhaps Brittany in a Latina form? Grrr. Does this make any sense. The highest court in the land and we are looking to dumb it down.
Moving the Marker
Moving the Marker
As a conservative, I am livid at the discussion and traction given to the thought that the Republican Party is not liberal enough. How absurd is that! That we are even entertaining the discussion that conformity in the name of growing the party is an option, is outrageous. The Republican principles are clear. (Paraphrasing Reagan), ”You don’t join a club because you want to change it, you join because your values are the same”. Ultimately, moving left, would be trading our values, prosperity, and personal liberty for a vote. There is an answer to gaining the vote, without compromise. But are we willing to make the sacrifices? So far I say no.
We have allowed the marker to be moved in the name of political correctness. We now accept the once unacceptable. The question is: What have we been doing while the marker was being moved right under our noses.
